Hydrophobic, oleophobic, and RF-transparent coatings engineered for the full envelope of avionics and airframe demands.
The Problem
Avionics electronics operate in conditions no ground-based system experiences: extreme temperature cycling, pressure differentials, condensation at altitude, vibration loads, and corrosive contaminants ranging from jet fuel to de-icing fluid. Moisture ingress into avionics connectors, corrosion on PCBAs in unpressurised bays, and radome surface degradation are documented failure modes. As India’s civil aviation sector expands and domestic MRO capability grows, locally available avionics-grade surface protection is a baseline requirement.
The Solution
Protection that performs across the full flight envelope.
ViriDyn’s coatings address avionics protection at two levels. For radome and antenna surfaces, superhydrophobic and RF-transparent coatings prevent rain fade and signal attenuation while resisting salt fog and ice. For internal avionics electronics, conformal nano-coatings provide hydrophobic, oleophobic, and corrosion-resistant protection on PCBAs, connectors, and wiring harnesses at less than 1 micron thickness — no impact on thermal or electrical performance. Compatible with temperature ranges and chemical environments encountered in both commercial and military aviation. Field restoration treatments are available for MRO applications.
What We Protect
Avionics PCBAs and flight control electronics
Airborne radomes — nose, belly, and dorsal installations
Communications and navigation hardware
Connectors, wiring harnesses, and pin assemblies
Sensor housings and pitot system electronics
MRO applications — field restoration of deployed systems
What Changes
Improves:
Moisture and corrosion resistance across temperature cycling conditions
Rain fade protection for airborne radomes and antenna systems
Salt-fog resistance for coastal and maritime aviation operations
Connector and harness protection against condensation ingress
MRO efficiency with field-applicable restoration treatments
Reduces:
Moisture ingress into avionics connectors at altitude
Corrosion on PCBAs in unpressurised avionics bays
Rain fade attenuation on airborne radar and comms systems
Salt-fog degradation on external antenna and radome surfaces
Unscheduled maintenance events caused by surface failure
Superhydrophobic, RF-Transparent — 1-Step For airborne radomes and antenna surfaces. Rain-fade, salt-fog, ice and snow protection. Fully RF-transparent — no signal attenuation.
Oleophobic, Hydrophobic — Electronic Grade Conformal Nano-Coating Zero cure time, zero masking required. Protects PCBs, connectors, and wiring from corrosion, moisture, humidity, salt-fog, tin whiskers, dendrites, solvents, and harsh chemicals. RF-transparent.
Anti-Fouling, Abrasion-Resistant — Hard Coating 7H–9H transparent hard shell for sensor housings, optics, and display assemblies. Anti-fouling, corrosion-resistant. Fully transparent — no optical interference.
